do they play in our lives?

Why Jesus was 40 Days in the Wilderness – Jesus began his very short ministry at the age of 30.  Why did he spend the first 40 days in the wilderness away from any other people?  What very important event preceded and necessitated this time alone?  What God teaches us in our times alone with Him is necessary to any ministry.  Without it we fall prey to the god of deceit.

The Death of Dogma – Ephesians 2 says that the law of commandments contained in ordinances was enmity (conflict), and that Jesus abolished them in his flesh.  Colossians 2 says that Jesus took these ordinances and nailed them to his cross.   What the heck do these Scriptures mean?  Understanding them will change the way we look at everything man says in the name of his God.

Feelings , – Feelings, nothing more than feelings!  But they are important, aren’t they?  They lead us in paths of righteousness, do they not?  Let’s take a look at what the Bible has to say about our feelings; what good they are, and what is the proper priority they should play in our lives.

The Subjectivity of Truth  – How the truth is subjective (not relative).  In order to allow for individuality, the truth of God and the Bible allows for absolute subjectivity.  We get into trouble when we compare the truth in one to the truth in another.  God’s love can only operate in the sphere of subjective truth.

Holy and Without Blame – This phrase, used in Ephesians, is difficult to understand, especially as applied to ourselves in the context of how we actually too often behave, think and feel.  Did God really mean this about us, now and forever?

In Tune with God – What reconciliation, or atonement really means, which  both mean to be brought into harmony with God.  How and why God did this.  How it allows for extreme individuality.  How it results in a song for the ages.

Christ, the Wisdom of God – When Christians think “wisdom” they often think of Proverbs.  This is good, fleshly wisdom.  But there is a greater wisdom – Christ.  What this means.  How Christ is actually God’s wisdom.

Alpha and Omega – Because of erroneous translation, most Christians today believe that Jesus Christ is the “Alpha and Omega” of the book of Revelation.  But this is absolutely not true.  We take a close look at specific verses in the first chapter of Revelation.

In the Name of Jesus – Is this just a formulaic expression which needs to be invoked in order to activate God?  If not, what does it actually mean?  Greater understanding brings greater power and efficacy into our lives.  The truth really is majestically potent!

Jesus the Christ now our Lord – “Jesus” is a name which millions of people have.  “Christ” was not Jesus’ last name.  “Lord” was not his title while he lived on the earth.  But put them all together, and you have the power which saves mankind and redeems all of creation!

About stevehartlaub@gmail.com

I'm a 70 year old spiritual adventurer in life, but I don't really get along with organized religion. I find it too passive, too worldly, too conforming, too powerless ... though I know many wonderful believers involved in it. I have been a seeker of Jesus Christ since 1974 in Ketchikan, Alaska. Very early into my spiritual journey, I came to the realization that I wouldn't be able to last long in this new Godly relationship without becoming able to understand the Bible. God supplied that need, and shortly thereafter I became interested in Biblical research ... Greek, word studies, HOW the Bible is designed to be understood, its customs, etc. I married Sharon in 1985 in Vancouver, Canada. I have 5 children - 3 girls, 2 boys....ages 27-33. All were homeschooled. 3 are happily married. I have six grandchildren. I have taught and studied the Word of God in informal gatherings in England, Scotland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Canada, Alaska, Nevada and all over the United States. In 2006 I became aware of God calling me into the revelation of the glorified Christ within, and I have been involved in making that revelation known since then. I recently moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, after living in Fitchburg, Wisconsin (suburb of Madison) since 1990.. If you're ever in the area, please look me up. I am a retired house painter, and God is providing for my wife and I abundantly! I am meek to the instruction of God...which often occurs while another person is speaking! So don't be afraid to comment on any of these studies. Because my heart is open to my master teacher, Jesus Christ!
